Helphire to raise £45m in placing

Helphire, the vehicle hire and accident management group, is to raise £45m ($89.1m) through a placing and open offer.

At the same time the company also announced the retirement of Mark Jackson, the 53-year-old chief executive who founded the group in 1992 and saw it through a legal battle with the insurance industry that nearly brought it to its knees at the turn of the century.
