Nielsen steps back from move on TNS-GfK merger

The Nielsen Company played down its interest in breaking up the agreed merger between two rival market research groups, Taylor Nelson Sofres and GfK.

The move boosts TNS’s chances of fending off a rival approach from WPP, Sir Martin Sorrell’s advertising and marketing group.
